課程概述 |
COURSE DESCRIPTION:
This course focuses on enhancing students’ listening and speaking competence through task-oriented listening practices and daily matters dialogues. Taiwanese life style and Chinese culture will also be introduced to students by various demonstrations and activities.

1. To enhance listening ability in Chinese.
2. To improve Chinese pronunciation.
3. To express in Chinese smoothly and confidently.

CLASSROOM RULES OF CONDUCT
No 3C devices can be used in the class. Turn off (or place on vibrate) cell phones and other electronic devices during class.
No breakfast in class, only drinks are allowed.
GRADING POLICY
Attendance and class participation 30%
Dictation 15%
In-class Quizzes 15%
Mid-term Exam 20%
Final Exam 20%
ATTENDANCE
Attendance is vital to class participation and will be taken and used in determining final grades. During the whole semester, students can take two leaves without any reason or advance notice of absences. From the 3rd leave, advance notices with reasons must be given by e-mails or in person, otherwise, any absence will be figured in the attendance grade (one point). Any significant tardy or early departure from class will be figured as a half absence (0.5 point).
RULES for QUIZZES and EXAMS
Dictation will be given twice for every lesson and no makeup can be taken. Quizzes will be given after every lesson.
Both quizzes and mid-term exam can be made up within one week, but will be taken 10% off the points you get.
No make-up exam for the final exam. Please discuss with me if you cannot attend the exam on the scheduled date.
